Haven't watched the recent ones, but i remember them being pretty good, informative and the topics were never that personal that I wouldn't want to publish them.
How would you (participants of those meetings) feel about having those be up on youtube or the roc website? Would it deter you from going there or to engage in conversation?
It would serve as a monthly update and signal to the world that there's activity around this lang.
Not applying retroactively ofcourse, since it wouldn't be fair to the old participants who didn't sign up for that.

Maybe those could be uploaded as clips? Could be helpful for answering questions as well as learning more deeply about roc without having to watch everything.
Luke Boswell (Aug 02 2026 at 23:13):If someone is interested in helping with this kind of thing I would be open to it. I haven't wanted to spend much time editing videos... I've been focussing on pushing various compiler or platform projects along instead.
It was always a goal that we might someday have shorter lighting style talks where people shared things, but for the last 12 months or so I haven't had many people volunteer to give a presentation, so it's been Richard sharing updates and we've had more general fireside style discussions.
If that changes and people are starting to come along with presentations prepared and sharing about Roc I would seriously consider editing those into shorter videos and posting on YT if there is demand and the presenter is happy for that.
Karl (Aug 03 2026 at 00:30):I'll talk about something. Probably Encoder/Decoder wrangling. Aside from the expected support for non-JSON formats, the API can do many things that would normally be macros or run-time reflection in other languages.

I would rather not have video of myself on the public internet but we could do just the presentation part with the one presenter if they want that.
