I regularly search for the google docs links for proposals, should we keep a proposals.md file in the repo with these links?
That sounds good for everything that we want to make public
A non-public mechanism is to keep a public to Zulip, but not internet-visible channel here that we post only proposal links to
And we delete every other message
maybe in some other repo than roc-lang/roc
just because it feels like it would kinda pollute code search results
I started doing it in roc-awesome but the issue was the proposals are often superseded by lots of discussion and then not updated. I would recommend pointing to a zulip thread with the proposal and discussion.
Yeah, each entry could be proposal topic, docs link and related zulip discussion(s)
I would be happy to host it there again, though I think I'd prefer it in a PROPOSALS.md instead of Readme
roc-awesome does not seem like the place that people would expect that information to be
What I like about roc-awesome is that it's not official so people probably dont expect it to be 100% accurate all the time.
I think we would benefit from an accurate (complete and up to date) list of proposals
I agree, though I ditched it because it was getting hard to keep up to date. Even just the status of proposal was challenging.
Uhu, understandable, it may be possible if we all help out
I really like the idea of a roc-proposals repo
Especially if it got us to write proposals in .md :-P
We have an rfcs repo, maybe in there?
https://github.com/roc-lang/rfcs
Why, why did we get away from that?
Because it's effort, and harder to back and forth with than Zulip
I mean for the formal proposals
I get throwing ideas out there in Zulip
I don't think we ever really started besides Ayaz, but I'd be down to push for proposals to go there?
